Healthcare Innovation: Trends From The Trenches, the popular webinar series that launched last fall, addressed how healthcare professionals need to update marketing methods to retain and attract more patients and communicate more clearly via new technology, in its sixth webinar, The Future Of Healthcare Marketing Is Digital, which aired April 25, 2014.

Andrea Simon, Ph.D., anthropologist, CEO/Founder of Simon Associates Management Consultants, former hospital executive and creator of the series, co-hosted the webinar with Ben Dillon, Co-Founder and VP of Geonetric, Inc., a pioneering company in digital healthcare marketing.

Dillon, an “eHealth evangelist,” shared insights on how healthcare marketing and communications must urgently become more personalized, automated, and sophisticated. He presented new research from the 2013 Survey on Initiatives in eHealth and shared how leading healthcare organizations are using digital communication tools to attract and engage patients.

Dillon also explained how communications are evolving to support the healthcare organizations of the future, and presented the skills and tools all organizations need in order to be successful for the rest of this decade and beyond. In addition, he delved into resource management, discussing how much leading hospitals are spending on digital marketing and how many people they’re employing to maximize results and ROI.
