Sixth “Trends from the Trenches” Webinar Shows How Healthcare Professionals Need To Update Marketing Methods To Retain & Attract More Patients & Communicate More Clearly Via New Technology
Healthcare Innovation: Trends From The Trenches, the popular webinar series that launched last fall, will address this phenomenon in its sixth webinar entitled, The Future Of Healthcare Marketing Is Digital, airing on Friday, April 25 at Noon, Eastern Time.
This webinar series was developed by Andrea Simon, Ph.D., anthropologist, CEO/Founder of Simon Associates Management Consultants, and a former hospital executive. She will co-host the sixth webinar with Ben Dillon, Co-Founder and VP of Geonetric, Inc., a pioneering company in digital healthcare marketing.
In this webinar, Dillon, a very well-informed and vocal eHealth evangelist, will share insights on how healthcare marketing and communications must urgently become more personalized, automated, and sophisticated. Dillon will present new research from the 2013 Survey on Initiatives in eHealth and examine how leading healthcare organizations are using digital communication tools to attract and engage patients.
Dillon also will explain how communications are evolving to support the healthcare organizations of the future, and share the skills and tools all organizations need to be successful for the rest of this decade and beyond. “I’m already seeing a lot of progress out there,” said Dillon. “A huge amount of redesign activity is happening this year as some 47 percent of health systems are in the process of redesigning their digital presence right now. Beyond that, another 25 percent to 28 percent did the same last year.”
Dillon believes that the largest driver toward redesign and digital upgrades in healthcare marketing is the desire to be compatible with mobile devices.
“It’s all about mobile technology these days,” added Dillon. “The sites that we created a few years ago that don’t work that well on tablets or smart phones need to be upgraded immediately. That’s because almost everyone is using mobile devices to call or email doctors, make appointments, check for directions, inquire about test results and more. If healthcare organizations’ sites aren’t mobile-ready, those organizations are going to lose patients.”
Dillon will provide some up-to-the-minute examples of healthcare organizations that are tackling digital marketing the right way, highlighting what is working and what isn’t working. Ultimately, he wants to provide tangible, actionable lessons for leaders at other healthcare organizations who want to embrace the digital revolution to a greater degree.
